VinWonders Nha Trang tips: best order to visit attractions and how to avoid queues

Based on 1 discussion with 3 participants · Last activity: 17 days ago

TL;DR

Start with the water park before 10am, then the aquarium and zoo. Buy tickets on Tripcom (~4000 RUB) which include fast track for 3 attractions (alpine coaster, 5D flight, river ride) to skip long queues.

Alternative to the cable car: instead of waiting for the cable car, you can take a boat to the island — only about a 5-minute wait. Entry tickets were bought via Tripcom, while zip-line and alpine coaster passes were bought on the Vinpearl website. Note that the zip-line had such long queues that three attempts to ride it that day all failed.

Another report: on a rainy day, arriving around 11:30 meant almost no queues anywhere (zoo, aquarium, Japanese garden, Ferris wheel, 5D cinema) — weather seems to strongly affect crowd levels. Tickets were bought via Tripcom.

If the water park is a priority, head there immediately after entering: a recent report says that around 9:30 it was nearly empty, all slides were done within 3 hours, and even the busiest slide was only about a 10-minute wait. Crowds built up after 12:00, so it was better to leave the water park by around 12:30.

If you want both the water park and the main rides without rushing, one day may be too tight: several recent reports suggest splitting VinWonders across 2 days, otherwise you may have to skip a lot or spend too much time in lines.

Buy the shore-to-island cable car fast pass in advance via the VinWonders app — without it expect a 45-minute queue from 8am. Exiting the cable car, turn immediately right to the end of the building for the park entrance. In-park navigation is non-existent — download the map beforehand.

Arriving at opening time is a mistake — tour groups arrive then too, causing 1.5-hour cable car queues and long lines everywhere. Arriving around 10:00 cuts all queue times to roughly 30 minutes.

The water park has no free sun loungers or towels; locker queues run 20–30 minutes. Paid beach loungers cost 150,000 VND but come without a towel or umbrella. Slide queues are long, but waiting in the water is more bearable than standing in the heat.

The alpine coaster queue can reach 3 hours — one reported wait was 9:20am to 12:20pm. If you've ridden a rodelbahn in Dalat, this won't impress. The 'Train' ride is a good alternative: much shorter queue with comparable thrills.

Aquarium feeding show is at 14:30 — worth timing your day around it. In the zoo, giraffes and rhinos are the standout animals; giraffe feeding is available.

All rides and show narration (including the Tata River ride) are in Vietnamese only — non-Vietnamese speakers will miss the storyline entirely. Factor this into your plans.

The 5D flying cinema is highly recommended. The alpine coaster requires a fast track — without it expect a 2.5-hour queue. Visiting around 5pm offers the best views, though the ride itself is considered average.

The water park rates about 7/10 — tall slides are good, queues manageable. The aquarium is underwhelming (5/10). The zoo is best visited in the afternoon when it's less crowded.

Optimal day route: water park at opening (9:45am) → aquarium → lunch → zoo (~2pm) → fast track for 3 rides → hilltop attractions → Ferris wheel at sunset. Expect ~20 min queue for the Ferris wheel.

Tickets via Tripcom cost around 4000 RUB and include fast track for the 3 busiest attractions: alpine coaster, 5D flight, and river ride. The ~1000 RUB premium over a standard ticket is well worth it for the time saved.
