Where to exchange currency in Nha Trang and what are the best rates?

On 14 September, Kim Chung jewellery shop at Xom Moi Market offered VND 2,580,000 for new US$100 notes, compared with VND 2,572,000 at Lotte Gold Coast. Kim Chung had the better rate in this comparison.

According to a traveller report, Sapphire locations have stopped exchanging currency since April because of licensing requirements for exchange operations. Check the current status of a specific branch before going.

Where to exchange: in September 2026 a participant wrote that dollars can usually be exchanged almost anywhere — at tourist shops on the street, at any place with a currency exchange sign, at jewellery shops, and at the Gold Coast shopping mall, which has two bank counters.

Be careful with private offers: in September 2026 travelers warned that people asking about exchange may be messaged privately by scammers offering 'great' rates. It is safer to use regular exchange points.

Travellers reported that in April, exchanging cash Chinese yuan for VND in Nha Trang worked out better than exchanging US dollars.

To receive cash VND, an exchange service can convert USDT and other cryptocurrencies from its supported-assets list.

An alternative to cash is paying with a yuan UnionPay card or by QR code. In April 2026 travelers exchanged a little money only on their first day, then paid by QR code and UnionPay card and ended up bringing their cash back home. In August another participant noted that with a yuan card you buy and spend at the current rate, whereas cash dollars bought in advance may lose out if the exchange rate moves.
