Which area of Nha Trang is best to stay in — good beach access and easy transport?

Traveling with kids: it's more convenient to base yourself in Cam Ranh (e.g. Cam Ranh Riviera) for a private beach and kids' activities, taking day trips into Nha Trang. Without kids, staying in Nha Trang itself is easier — livelier and cheaper, though the beach is shared and you'd need to travel for more privacy.

For travelers who want beach access combined with easy bus connections, the central beachfront strip is the most practical choice — it keeps you close to transport links and the main sights.

The riverside area near the GO! supermarket is a budget-friendly option with pleasant water views. Downside: the beach is not walkable — you'll need a motorbike to get there.

The southern part of Nha Trang is another affordable option, suited for non-party travelers who have a motorbike. Beach access requires riding rather than walking.
