Should you stay in one area of Phu Quoc island or move between different locations during your trip?

If you can split the trip, spend most nights in the north or Ong Lang and add 2–3 nights in the south; this avoids repeatedly crossing the whole island.

Another approach is to base yourself centrally at Long Beach and take taxis to the north and south (there used to be free buses for this, though they seem to be gone now). Impressions: the center is lively, the south is beautiful in the evening, and the north has a nice town beach.
