Which Phu Quoc beaches are best for swimming in October and early November?

An early-November experience: a traveler stayed on Phu Quoc in the first half of November 2024 — there were a couple of downpours, otherwise the weather was good. Swimming at the central beach was not possible, so they went to Marina Beach instead. If you travel in early November, plan for trips to another beach on days when the sea by your hotel is rough.

Big waves at Khem in late October are unlikely, in the view of a participant writing in September 2026 — more of a small, gentle swell, so there is no need to worry much. The downside is that once waves start, rubbish can float in the sea. Another participant recalled swimming at Khem in November 2025 with no rubbish, though weather and sea conditions are changeable.

Not everyone sees October as a problem. In September 2026 one participant wrote that for a couple of years in a row they swam in September and October with clean, wave-free water, although 2025 was different. Another traveler visited Phu Quoc in mid-October 2025: great weather, small waves in the centre and clean water. For comparison, another participant noted that Phuket gets bigger waves in its season than Phu Quoc.

Late October is a transition period, and participants say plainly that it is a matter of luck. The season at Khem is ending, while the sea in the west is not quite good yet, though it can settle by early November. One traveler's experience: in late October 2025 Khem was better, and in 2024 the west coast was. Statistically the season shifts from the east beaches to the west ones, but any given day or week can differ.

For October, participants almost unanimously point to the east coast: in September and October 2026 they recommended Khem and Bai Sao beaches, where, they say, the sea stays fine until about November. Back in August someone wrote that Phu Quoc in October is a debatable choice that makes sense only if you base yourself at Khem Beach. One participant added that in 2025 the east-coast beaches were good in November too, but that was more of an exception.

West-coast beaches on Phu Quoc, participants say, become calm by November: in September 2026 someone wrote that the weather settles in November, with a warm, calm sea on the west side of the island. But years differ: one traveler recalled that in 2025 the main beaches only became wave-free by late November, while Khem was good in November.
