Which hotel reef is best for snorkeling near Dahab (Happy Life, Rixos, Swiss Inn)?

For watching fish while snorkeling, visitors recommend staying still for a while rather than feeding them: they observed curious fish gathering around on their own.

At one of the hotels the sea is shallow with a sandy entry and almost no corals or marine life — a plus for those afraid of fish, good for splashing around in shallow water.

To see something interesting at the reef, you need to swim to the coral formation, go around it and swim along it to the end — moray eels (after 6pm) and stingrays have been spotted there.

At Rixos Nabq the reef isn't right by the shore, but it's lively and decent compared to other spots. At Swiss Inn the water is warmer in winter, but the swimming area is shallow, like a kiddie pool.

Even without diving or freediving experience, the reef at Happy Life is fine for casual swimming and sightseeing — not too sparse, fairly lively.

There's not much to see at the Happy Life reef — barely any fish; the only notable thing is the noticeable temperature differences in different spots of the reef pool.
