Is Hurghada worth visiting in July or August — how bad is the heat?

Based on several families' experience, Hurghada's heat is much easier to handle than, say, Turkey's, due to dry air. But a lot depends on the hotel — if the walk from room to sea is long and there's little greenery, kids aged 6-7 can struggle in summer. In hotels where everything is close and there are many trees/tall shrubs providing shade, children handle the heat much better even in August.

One traveler with a 3-year-old (late August) noted no heat problems when following a simple routine: avoid the sun from 1pm to 4pm, use that time for lunch and an hour-to-90-minute rest in the room, then head back to the sea.
