TL;DR
It gets cold near sunrise at the top of Mount Sinai, so bring a windbreaker/sweater and sneakers (not sandals), plus a spare t-shirt and at least 1.5L of water per person.
The climb happens at night and you sweat heavily on the way up, so pack a spare t-shirt to change into at the summit before sunrise.
Right before sunrise it gets quite cool at the summit, so a windbreaker or warm sweater is recommended.
Sneakers are a must, as the trail is dusty and rocky. Only local Bedouins, who are used to it, hike it in sandals.
Bring at least 1.5 liters of water per person, otherwise you'll have to buy it from Bedouins along the trail for $2-3 per bottle.
