Is Sharm El Sheikh suitable for toddlers: is there a shallow sandy entry to the sea or do you have to use a pontoon?

TL;DR

At the hotel discussed by guests, the main way into the sea is from a pontoon (pier), because the reef starts right by the shore. According to August 2026 reports, toddlers aged 2–3 splash in shallow pools to the left and right of the pontoon, and a small sandy patch before the corals exists only at the third access point. Guests do not describe a full gently sloping sandy entry, so parents take small children into deeper water from the pier with an inflatable ring.

What the community said

In October 2026 the mother of a 4-year-old girl wrote that the sea entry in the area where her family stayed (she called it the spot "by Paramisa") is excellent: her daughter ran barefoot, without water shoes. There are some small stones at the entry, but they are easy to see. Whether a 2-year-old needs water shoes is best judged on site — this is one family's experience.

Another August 2026 report: entry is from the pontoon. Only at the third access point is there a small area before the corals — a shallow pool about 2 metres wide and roughly 2 metres of sand, with the reef right after it. This is not a full sandy entry into the sea.

According to a guest in August 2026, the only way into the sea is from the pier. For children, there are shallow pools by the shore to the left and right of the pier, where toddlers usually splash and adults simply sit half in the water. These spots are for splashing rather than swimming.

Experience of a family with a daughter aged 2–3 (August 2026): the child happily splashed right by the shore, and when she wanted to ride the waves, the parents put her in an inflatable ring and took her into deeper water from the pier.
