TL;DR
Summer temperatures can hit 45–50°C but are manageable with shade and cold drinks. Winter (January) offers a pleasant 24–26°C with heated pools and swimming in the sea.
One traveler noted that during a 10-night September 2025 stay the sea was barely usable — even at high tide the water didn't reach waist level, and everyone was asked to leave the beach around 6 PM. They spent the whole vacation in the pools, so this year they chose the Maritime hotel specifically for shore swimming.
In Nabq, spring winds—especially on some days in March—can make the beach less comfortable, but strong wind is not constant. In summer, the same breeze and the open, gently sloping hotel grounds help make the heat easier to bear.
June can be comfortable and not especially windy, but regular low tides are possible; reaching water deep enough for swimming may require using a pontoon.
During the New Year holidays, the weather can be comfortable: short sleeves may be enough in the evenings, with only an occasional light layer needed. Beach windbreaks make windy conditions more pleasant, though an isolated morning sandstorm is possible.
Mid-July heat is easy to handle thanks to steady sea breezes. The wind is noticeable but doesn't prevent swimming.
In early May the sea is still cool — during a stay from May 11–21, the water only started warming up toward the end of the trip.
In October Sharm el-Sheikh is hot, the sea is very warm, skies are clear and there's no wind — great conditions overall.
August temperatures can reach around 50°C, but it's still manageable. The best strategy is beach time during the day under an umbrella and switching to the pool in the evenings — some hotels keep pools open until 10 PM.
January is an excellent time to visit. Air temperature is around 24–26°C, hotels offer heated pools, and the sea is warm enough for swimming. Service and hotel quality are generally very good.
August heat is bearable if you plan your day right: beach with shade in the daytime, pool and cold drinks in the evening. Even heat-sensitive travelers manage well with this routine.
