What is the weather and sea like in Sharm el-Sheikh in September and November?

In September, wind can make the beach and sea feel less comfortable, particularly for travelers who prefer genuinely warm water.

At the hotel beach the wind is barely felt because the bay is shielded by a spit, so it stays comfortable even on windy days. Conditions on the reef itself vary — it's a matter of luck. A 3mm wetsuit is recommended for comfortable swimming.

In November the sea is described as bracing/cool rather than warm, and getting to the water requires walking along a long pontoon; there's no way to reach the sea outside the hotel grounds — beach access is only through the hotel itself.

In late October the sea and reef are great — comfortable swimming from the shore during high tide.

The reef is beautiful, but a red flag (strong current) is often raised, and there's a steep drop-off into deep blue water near the reef — some prefer to stay close to shore.

In November the sea is excellent — the underwater world is stunning and well worth trying even for first-timers. A two-week stay during this period is highly recommended.

Both September and November offer good conditions in Sharm. Currents near the reefs are manageable with fins. Near Sunrise hotel, the current can actually carry you along the reef effortlessly — great for reef watching.

In early September Naama Bay is very hot. If your hotel is not on the beachfront, walking to the sea in the heat is exhausting. A sea breeze and beach umbrella are essential — sitting in direct sun is barely tolerable.
