Is The Grand Hotel Sharm El Sheikh a good choice for snorkeling, nightlife, and families with young children?

From messages by 2 participants in 1 source · Last activity: 19 days ago

TL;DR

The Grand Hotel Sharm El Sheikh is better suited to adult groups and snorkelers, with a reef accessed from a pier. Families using strollers may find the many stairs around the resort inconvenient.

What the community said

The hotel is a good option for snorkeling: the sea is accessed from a pier, with deep water of around 20 metres and a wall-like reef. From building 39, the beach is about a 5-minute walk downhill via stairs.

The large, green grounds suit an active adult holiday, with 8 pools and 11 bars. There is evening entertainment, club outings after the shows, and late-night snacks from 12:30 am to 3:00 am.

The resort may not be the best fit for young children or guests with strollers because there are many stairs. It is considered more convenient for young travelers, groups of friends, and adults.

There are shopping stalls near the hotel, and Mango Market is about a 20-minute walk away. For rides, booking through the Drive app and paying in Egyptian pounds was reported to be cheaper; taxis outside the hotel initially asked US$5 and could be negotiated to US$3.
