Is the sea cold and windy in Sharm El Sheikh in July?

Guests staying in late July confirm the sea isn't great for swimming, as expected for a non-sandy-beach hotel. Over 5 days, the beach/sea access was closed due to sea conditions only once, during the daytime, and was open the rest of the time.

In mid-July, travelers report that the sea can feel uncomfortably cool for swimming, with the wind strongest in open water. At the same time, the sun is very intense, so some visitors prefer early September for warmer swimming conditions.

According to early July feedback, the beach setup in Sharm is comfortable in practical terms: sunbeds are usually available without queues, it’s easy to find space, and the beach was rated better than in Sahl Hasheesh/Segala. That matters if you’re choosing a hotel mainly for beach convenience despite the wind.

At the end of June, visitors also said the water in Sharm felt more refreshing than warm, and mornings were noticeably windy. So even in peak summer, you should expect wind in the first half of the day.
