Waves appear to be infrequent: in one report there were none in September, versus roughly 5 days with waves during a 14-day stay in July. When the sea is calm, swimming conditions are excellent.

Water clarity is best during the morning high tide — after arriving July 18, visibility was near-perfect for about the first 5 days, then got worse, and the tide timing shifts a bit each day.
Wind has a big effect on sea conditions — strong waves stir up sediment and reduce visibility (it was noticeably worse in April compared to the current July trip).
At the hotel's two small lagoons, during a 5-day stay the red flag was raised only once (morning of July 16); the rest of the time swimming conditions were calm and fine.

As the water warms up in summer, marine life (including jellyfish) noticeably increases compared to previous seasons.
