What time is check-in and check-out at Sharm El Sheikh hotels, and can you get a late checkout for a night flight?

On a recent stay, the hotel would not allow check-in at 6am even though the room was already ready; on a previous visit, early check-in at the same property had been granted without an issue.

Arrived around 4am and paid $90 for a separate room for one night to get early check-in — possibly as a result, they were not only checked in right away but also upgraded to a better room category for the entire stay.

At a 5pm checkout, wristbands were cut off immediately after handing over the room. Other guests at the same hotel had a checkout near midnight and were allowed to keep their wristbands until evening, but only while staying near the reception area.

A group of 10 people with a 7pm checkout (their flight was delayed by 3 hours) had none of their wristbands cut — this happened in early August when the hotel was in stop-sale (not accepting new guests).

Arrived at 11am, was told room wouldn't be ready until 13:30; refused to pay extra, changed into swimwear brought along and went to the pool, wristbands were issued right away. Had two rooms booked: one was ready at 13:00, the other even later than promised, but they were allowed to choose the building.

An alternative approach while waiting for the room: change into shorts and a t-shirt right away, leave belongings and go explore the hotel, without paying to speed things up — at most offering a small token gift (like a chocolate bar) out of politeness. If an early room is granted, great; if not, no big deal.

One traveler arrived at the hotel by 5am after a night flight, but had to wait until 1pm for the room to be ready — early arrival didn't guarantee an early check-in.

When the assigned room turned out to be in poor condition, guests slipped $20 into their passports at reception — within about 5 minutes they were moved to a renovated building (35) instead of the old one (21).

For an 11pm flight, the hotel extended checkout to 2pm for free, kept the wristbands on, and even gave a box of candy as a gift.

At one hotel, housekeeping cleans the room right after guests leave in the morning — by around 8am the room is already done, even without pressing the maid call button or hanging a door sign.

Returning to their room around 9am, travelers have repeatedly found it already cleaned — housekeeping works very early, almost immediately after guests step out.

For a departure on the 15th, the hotel counted the room-day as starting on the 16th — meaning billing follows a 24-hour cycle from check-in date, not a strict calendar day.

There are cases where guests landing at 4am were checked into their room by 7am — early check-in is possible if a room is already available.

At some previously visited hotels, late checkout extensions were not granted until evening — unlike other properties where staying until later in the day was possible.

For a late-night flight (around 10:50pm), travelers noted it's worth checking with the hotel in advance about extending the room, since late checkout policies vary a lot between properties.
