Which bay/beach area in Sharm El Sheikh has the best sandy entry and coral reef for swimming?

Even if the entry at one spot is bad, just 20 meters away the rest of Naama Bay has sandy entry, and you can even find some corals near the Novotel hotel.

For winter, recommended bays are Naama (sandy but boring, no reef), Gardens (good reef), part of Hadaba and Sharks Bay.

Inside Naama Bay itself there's almost no reef — the only decent spot is near the Movenpick hotel, at the bay's exit. Old Town beaches are weak, and the waterfront area is hit-or-miss due to wind, currents and long pontoons. Most other bays in Sharm are generally good.

The reef in Naama Bay is quite weak and half-dead, so if a nice reef matters, better choose another bay. If you still want Naama specifically, almost all the living reef there is concentrated near the Novotel and Jaz hotels.

If you want a real sandy beach, Naama Bay is the choice, but reefs there are poor. In Sharm it's generally worth choosing a bay with a reef. The Maritim hotel area in Naama is a decent average option.

Dana Lagoon is praised even more than the famous Naama Bay, the only downside being cooler water.

For comparison with Hurghada's sea, it's suggested to visit Sharm El Sheikh — the water and entry are generally better there, especially compared to the Long Beach area in Hurghada.

Almost all of Naama Bay has a sandy sea entry, and Sharm El Maya bay is also known for its good sandy entry.
