TL;DR
Rooms usually only have tea bags, but restaurants have tea/coffee stations where you can make your own juices and smoothies from fresh fruit; bar alcohol (like vodka) is often not premium quality, and some resorts (e.g. Serry) offer in-room mini-fridges and let you request extra dishes from the chef.
At the Serry resort, rooms actually have mini-fridges, staff are very attentive, and the chef personally checks in about food preferences.
You usually can't grab coffee yourself — you have to ask staff and wait about 2-3 minutes for it to be brought to you.
Some restaurants use shared tables where you may be seated with other guests — you can decline and ask for a separate table, staff won't mind.
Room service by phone is quick — orders like towels and beer are typically brought almost immediately.
In-room drinks are usually limited to tea bags, but restaurants have tea/coffee stations, and you can make your own smoothies and juices from the fresh fruits and vegetables available.
What's poured at the bars as "vodka" doesn't taste like the real thing — if brand-name spirits matter to you, it's better to bring your own.
