Do I need to carry my passport in Antalya, or is a copy/hotel voucher enough?

TL;DR
At road checkpoints (e.g. between Antalya and Kemer) police sometimes check documents on minibuses/buses — a hotel voucher or other ID is usually accepted, but it's safer to carry a paper copy of your passport.
At a checkpoint on the Antalya–Kemer road, police said a hotel voucher or any other ID was enough if you didn't have your passport. A couple of young passengers without any documents were taken off the bus.
At a checkpoint entering Antalya from Kemer, a minibus was stopped and all passengers' documents were checked. Some tourists had no passport copy at all — nothing happened, but it was stressful. It's easier to just carry a paper copy of your passport.
Based on years of trips to Turkey since 2014, no one has ever asked for a passport as long as you stay within the hotel/resort area.
