It is usually better not to combine the Cham Islands with Marble Mountains on the same day, as Cham Island boat trips normally take most of the daylight hours. Visit Marble Mountains separately in Ngu Hanh Son, about 10 km south of central Da Nang.

Allow a full day for the Cham Islands: transfers from Da Nang, the speedboat, beach activities and the return journey usually leave no realistic time for Marble Mountains at 2–3 pm.

Plan Marble Mountains for a separate morning or late afternoon. The complex is in Ngu Hanh Son between Da Nang and Hoi An; allow at least 2–3 hours for its caves, pagodas and viewpoints.

Bà Nà Hills also works best as a separate day trip because the journey from Da Nang and cable cars take considerable time. For a Starbucks souvenir, look after arriving at Sun World Ba Na Hills rather than trying to combine it with an island excursion.
