Does it rain a lot in Da Nang in summer — what's the weather like on the coast?

During 2 weeks in Da Nang in June, rain was forecast every day, but it actually rained only once in the afternoon, plus possibly a couple of nights — inferred from wet pavement in the morning.

Over 5 days in Da Nang, weather forecasts (like Gismeteo) didn't match reality — never got caught in rain; one shower passed while spending about an hour in a mall. Morning sun and swimming were unaffected, no tropical downpours experienced.

A day trip to Hoi An during rainy weather is a common experience. Mountain areas around Da Nang are especially unpredictable — conditions can change rapidly, so pack accordingly.
