Can I use a foreign bank card to book accommodation in Nha Trang on Booking.com or Airbnb?

TL;DR

Russian and some foreign cards are not accepted on Airbnb or Booking.com. On Booking, reservations may still be confirmed with payment due on arrival in cash.

Booking.com may confirm a reservation even with an unsupported card, showing a 'pay on arrival' message. However, since the hotel cannot charge the card, the booking is not fully guaranteed and could potentially be cancelled.

Booking.com — pay on arrival risk

Airbnb does not accept Russian cards at all — payment through the platform is blocked. Some travelers book initially via Airbnb, then arrange payment directly with the host outside the platform.

Airbnb — Russian cards not accepted

A practical workaround is to make initial contact via Airbnb, then arrange future stays and payments directly with the host, bypassing the platform entirely.
