TL;DR
Do not plan to bring them: since 1 January 2025, Vietnam has banned the import, possession, transport and use of e-cigarettes and heated-tobacco products. Screening arrangements at Cam Ranh Airport can vary, but a lack of visible scanners does not make carriage legal.
For flights through Cam Ranh International Airport, the compliant option is not to bring a vape, IQOS or other heated-tobacco device, e-liquid or sticks in either hand luggage or checked baggage.
Vietnam’s restriction covers more than retail sales: it also applies to importing and transporting vapes and heated-tobacco products. Passing through screening without an issue on a previous trip is not a guarantee for a future journey.
Do not base your decision on whether walk-through scanners appear to be operating at Cam Ranh Airport: checks may be selective and take place in different areas. If a prohibited device is found, it may be confiscated and can lead to an administrative penalty.
