The northern district is the hub for Russian-speaking expats and a good place to find community. However, beyond the Oceanus area there is little to walk to — mostly a highway with no real promenade. The Anna hotel pier is a nearby option but gets crowded in high season.

If you plan to get around on foot, the city center is the better choice — it has a proper seafront promenade and all tourist amenities within walking distance. The downside is more tourist crowds and traffic.
