When is the best time to swim on Phu Quoc's west vs east coast beaches?

Based on last year's experience: mid-October weather was great, but the first two weeks of November brought rain and left the west coast dirty, so people switched to swimming at Khem Beach on the east side — the opposite of the usual seasonal pattern.

For a beach holiday on Phu Quoc, November–December may be a better choice, as October still has a high chance of rain.

Based on repeated trips, mid-September to mid-October is ideal on Phu Quoc: the heat is no longer exhausting, crowds thin out, and while rain does occur it isn't prolonged.

Phu Quoc's east coast is technically considered off-season when the west coast is rough, but in practice conditions are often fine for swimming.

Khem Beach and Sunset Town on the west coast are more scenic and typically calm until November, which is why they're commonly recommended. However, conditions vary year to year — some Septembers see storms, others are perfectly calm.

The entire west coast of Phu Quoc — not just the Marina area — typically calms down from late September, sometimes earlier. In June the west coast is usually rough.
