Where's the best area to stay on Phu Quoc Island — north or center?

If you plan to explore the island by scooter, the central area is a more practical base: it has more cafés and things to do in the evening, and accommodation is usually cheaper because of greater choice. Beaches and sights can be visited during the day; riding back to remote beach areas after dark is less convenient and safe.

For touring the island, the King Kong area is an option, though its beach is considered mediocre. For a better beach location, consider the coastal stretch from Famiana to Dusit.

The north of the island has major resort hotels like Vinpearl, Wyndham Grand, and Radisson. Some hotels aren't directly beachfront but are a short walk from the sea, within the resort infrastructure.

There's a bus stop near the northern hotels going to the island's center, plus taxis are always available — getting downtown isn't an issue.

In terms of overall infrastructure, the north ranks second on the island after the center. The center has a worse beach but the most developed infrastructure — shops, restaurants, entertainment.
