TL;DR
Several hotels along Long Beach block direct beach access through their property — e.g. near Nanh Ngoc Phu Quoc Resort — so guests have to walk around or ask staff to let them through.
Nanh Ngoc Phu Quoc Resort (3.2 on Tripadvisor, only 20 reviews) has no beach of its own — big hotels stand between it and the sea and don't let guests cross their property to reach the water.
A hotel near the Long Beach center: old bungalows, dirty pool (water looked never changed), no direct beach access, plus trash, stray dogs and sewage outlets roughly every 100 meters along the shore; guests had to go through a neighboring hotel and ask staff to open the gate.
Hotels with good direct beach access include Marriott Premier Residences, one of the most popular on the island; the downside is that at low tide the water recedes far out, requiring an ~80-meter walk across sand to reach it.
