TL;DR
Food quality varies by hotel: larger resorts like Sunny offer more variety across multiple restaurants. Italian mains like pizza and lasagna often disappoint, but soups and desserts tend to be highlights.
At an Italian restaurant, the caprese, mushroom salad, seafood soup, and minestrone were all enjoyable. Tiramisu was a highlight. However, pepperoni pizza and lasagna were disappointing — skip them. The soup alone was worth the visit despite mediocre service.
Children can be very picky about food in Egypt — one child survived almost entirely on oranges, bread rolls, and sausage brought from home. Local pasta, even when undercooked, was refused despite being a favourite at home. It's worth packing familiar snacks for kids.
At the Sunny Beach resort complex, variety is greater because guests can dine across three hotels — if one restaurant disappoints, just move to another. Vegetables and fruits are more abundant there. Moreno resort has more herbs and greens in dishes, but fewer local Egyptian guests dining there.
