TL;DR
4-star hotels in Hurghada generally fall short of Sharm el-Sheikh or Turkey equivalents: pools close at 6pm, snacks are limited, but bars are well-staffed. Sun loungers are usually available even at 10–11am.
Summer heat in Hurghada in July is unpredictable — some years it's intense enough to force guests indoors during the day, other years it's manageable under a beach umbrella. Conditions vary significantly from year to year.
Sun loungers are not an issue — even arriving at the beach at 10–11am, there were always free spots. Restaurant tables were also readily available. Beer is sometimes served warm; asking for ice helps.
A 4-star hotel in Hurghada showed several downsides compared to similar properties in Sharm el-Sheikh: pool and beach close at 6pm, no lounging allowed in the evening, no ice cream, very limited snacks (three pizzas for the whole hotel, then 'finish' for those who waited 30 minutes in line). Initial room assignment may be poor. Beach animation takes place in the sand. Upside: bar service is good.
