What is the quality of 4-star all-inclusive hotels in Hurghada in summer?

At a large hotel complex, walking from building 18 to the beach in the heat can be tiring, especially with children. Golf carts near the Palm and Area zones may take 10–15 minutes to arrive, so proximity of the room to the beach is worth considering.

Review of Conti hotel in July: comfortable under an umbrella, sun burns hard at midday. Enough loungers — more were added recently, guests spread between beach, aqua park and pools. Only one restaurant operates, but timing your visit avoids queues and table issues. Sea swimming rules vary by shift — sometimes guests are allowed to swim far, even to neighboring hotels, with only light whistling if you go too far.

A guest visiting the area for the third or fourth consecutive July says this year is noticeably cooler than previous years — no exhausting heat, and the sea water is surprisingly cold, requiring time to adjust, which is unusual for the Red Sea in July.

At one hotel, security won't let guests enter the sea before 8am, whistling at anyone who tries earlier. When asked why, staff just say 'it's the system' — though nighttime pool/sea cleaning only partly explains the rule.

A 4-star hotel in Hurghada showed several downsides compared to similar properties in Sharm el-Sheikh: pool and beach close at 6pm, no lounging allowed in the evening, no ice cream, very limited snacks (three pizzas for the whole hotel, then 'finish' for those who waited 30 minutes in line). Initial room assignment may be poor. Beach animation takes place in the sand. Upside: bar service is good.
